This FAQ contains information for facilities regarding the standard printer and software setup, supply ordering, and badge buddies.

What are badge buddies?

Badge Buddies are badge-sized cards that can be attached to the back of employee name badges. A variety of badge buddy cards are available to help provide critical, quick reference information for you and your team. Click here to order.


How do I order a new badge printer?

Orders for the Primacy 2 badge printer can be placed though the PACS Support Service Catalog. Your order will include a double-sided printer, one ribbon cartridge, one cleaning kit, a pack of 100 blank cards, and a three-year warranty. For more supplies, feel free to contact our preferred vendor (ID Card Group) at 877-868-0012.


How do I set up a new badge printer?

After you receive your badge printer and supplies, please submit a PACS Support ticket through the Report an Issue portal. They will assist you with setting up the printer and software. We recommend you do not open the printer box and try to install the software on your own. After IT sets up the printer, please email us to schedule a training session.


How do I access my facility templates?

The software template(s) and jpeg background file(s) will be emailed to you in a zipped folder. Download the zipped folder and place the files on your desktop or in another folder you can easily access. To request new files, please email creative@pacs.com.


What do I do if my background does not appear on the template?

When you open your template files there is a chance the background image may not appear. This is due to the file being saved in a different location from where it was created. To correct this, you’ll need to link the background image to the file then save the file again. The background should now appear each time you open your template.


Can I change the font size in the template file?

The font and font size in your template file were chosen for their legibility and should only be adjusted if a first name or title is too long to fit the provided area. If you have questions, feel free to contact us and we can walk you through any edits to the template.


How do I order more supplies?

Your first set of supplies were ordered with your printer and should cover the initial printing for employees at your facility. Any future badge supply, software, or hardware orders will be placed by the facility directly to the supply vendor. You can set up an account with the supply vendor, ID Card Group, by calling 1-877-868-0012. Click here for a listing of commonly used products and badge supplies. Note: some products will direct you to ID Card Group’s site to make your badge supply purchases.


What if I find a better deal on supplies?

ID Card Group will match other vendor’s pricing and offers PACS-supported facilities free shipping on all supply orders. However, while ID Card Group is our preferred vendor, you are not required to use them. Feel free to contact PACS ID Card Group account representative, Tanner Zirbel, at 1-877-868-0012 with any questions regarding orders and pricing.
